It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like I lacked timing completely," said Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from there Healy was underway.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was out the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the last Australia's opponents at this World Cup want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

But while she later admitted those injuries have delayed plans to retire, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a global event as skipper.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
