One two-month journey around Australia is being halted in the wake of the fatal incident of an older female passenger who was left behind by the vessel on a remote coastal location.

The passenger had been walking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the group for a rest. The vessel departed without her and went back later that day after the ship staff became aware the lady was not present.

A large-scale search operation discovered her remains the following day.

Authorities are looking into the tragedy, together with police and the medical examiner.
